MK6 won't start after new battery fitted
Hi
Ive just joined and I am the proud owner (but slightly frustrated at the moment) of a dark blue MK6 1.6 auto in near mint condition with only 26k miles on the clock. In general the car is easy and cheap to fix and I can do most of the repairs but right now I am flummoxed.
The car has been idle during lockdown. Ive fitted a new Bosch battery and everything electrical works EXCEPT nothing happens when I turn the ignition key i.e. no fuel pump priming noise. Ive examined all fuses and none are blown. So I'm thinking the immobiliser is being uncooperative! I want to get the car to a garage for MOT so I'm willing to bypass the immobiliser to do this but also call out an auto electrician to persuade the immobiliser that I am the true owner and am not stealing the car! I sincerely hope Im not the only person who's experienced this problem after fitting a new battery. Any ideas or solutions would be gratefully received.
Thanks in advance

PassionFord Post Whore!!
Should be a red led near the clock, if its an immobiliser issue the light will flash fast as you key on.
Those cars were prone to have fusebox issues back in the day, the internal board would burn out for the fuel pump relay, light relays and all sorts.
