i couldnt find this thread anywhere now i know why... someone moved it to the concours section...first time ive ever been in here as im strictly a £5 jetwash once a month sort of guy......
but i got some wet and dry, could only find 1200 grit though ,some cutting compound and some polish and ill try it out tomorrow as i have plastic lenses on my work saab....
and ive still got no idea what gavin from autoglass has got to do with this unless he does jobs on the side repairing minor lense scratches with his magic window repair gel?

i done my xenons
started by wet sanding using 1500 then 2000 then 2500 then 3000.could see by this point that they were looking very good.so machined them using 3m fast cut then refined with menzerna. gtechniq c4 was used to seal them then 2 coats of coli 476.im pleased with how they turned out
before
after
its important to seal them afterwards as they will yellow as headlights come from factory with a uv coating

Scratches on glass can be polished out but only if they are not to deep, I work in the double glazing industry and you can get small buffing pads that go in an electric drill and use jewellers rouge which they use for polishing diamonds, any good glass supplier should be able to help you with the materials but it can be time consuming, if the scratch is to deep it can distort the glass and leave a slightly concave effect.
