Default Machine polisher advice

Hi all,

I have been thinking about getting a machine polisher, maybe look at a kit so I have all the bits.

I was thinking about a dual action machine? something that will do the job but not risk making a mess of the paint work due to inexperience?

Anyone offer any advice on how good they are and if there are decent kits available? or if polishing by hand will do exactly the same?

Ta

just order a G220 kit with the pads and polish, fingers crossed it will be a worth while purchase, one things for sure I will be taking it easy to start lol!!

Can anyone tell me if the pads are re-usable or if you have to use new pads on every car? Was thinking of having a practice on my misses mums fiesta before I try it out on the Audi as the fex is worth £500 and the Audi is worth about £12k !

^^ Good advice As you can see under my username, over there I co-run the place

On the pads: Yes, a washing machine will sort them nicely, but if you've only got a couple to do and it's not worth doing a washing cycle (plus if your missus will give you earache for using the machine for 'car stuff' ), then you can do them equally well (and imo better) by hand.

Simple everyday Fairy washing up liquid massaged well into the pad will break down and dissolve the polish residue that's migrated deep into the cell structure of the pad. Then just rinse thoroughly under the tap until the water runs clean with no soap and leave to dry naturally overnight.
