Default Underside detail; how to get rid of current underseal.

I started stripping down the car today, waxoyld the sills and various other places - and I now need to know how to strip the underseal under the car, as I'm going to start painting it soon (this saturday if I get a space on the ramp), so I need your answers quick please!

Also what would the best thing to use for painting the fuel tank? I polished it today but might paint it matt black... not sure what would look better though! I'm after a smooth even finish over the whole underside of the car, so if anyones done anything like this before then please give me more pointers to help me along.

Thanks guys,

Mark
