3 hard drives
I ve built my own computer (1st time novice)
But have now run out of hard drive space (massive mp3 collection!)
and wanted to add a 3rd hard drive i have space in the case but was not sure on the wiring?
hows it done?

Right, as standard you have 2 IDE channels on your motherboard. This can run a maximum of 4 drives.
If you look at my CD Drives, you'll see the cable runs direct from the motherboard, to the DVD-RW (bottom drive) then into my DVD Drive (top drive)
top drive is master, 2nd drive is slave, and that's it basically

you will need an IDE controller card if you want to add any more devices, but make sure you have a power suppply up to the job and enough power connectors.

yes you can buy spiltters. I dare say you will be ok with a 500w power supply. I am running 3 hard drives drives, 2 DVD drives and 5 fans with the standard power supply that came with my case.
