Yeah i've checked there and it says everything is working properly. On start up it sometimes shows a win32 error message and the screen will freeze and my web page looks different like where it show a page loading at the bottom it goes very thin and the standard buttons at the top move more to the left and it seems grey and like an old version of ie explorer.... and if that makes sence ....
Runa virus scan and spyware scan, and also make sure the speakers are plugged into the green socket. You can also test them on a walkman / hi-fi through the headphone jack
Can you recommend some good virus software? I've run various spyware programs including spybot search and destroy and two registry mechanics. The only virus software i've got is AVG i think (i'm not on my computer at the moment) and it doesn't pick anything up.

Well my virus scan fetched nothing up BUT i checked in devce manager again and 2 things have problems now. Microsoft kernel acoustic echo canceller and Microsoft kernel audio splitter both have the same status " windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because there is a duplicate device already running in the system. (Code 42) "

It now freezes where the windows loading screen comes on at startup and after about 10 attempts I managed to get it into windows and it comes up with a svchost.exe error message and then freezes completely again.
