i can not get the 2 computers to see each other , i have tried to assign an ip addy to each and ping .. but getting nowhere .. have tried the active x proxy prog but no working
each pc is connected to the wireless network but thats about it ..
both systems are xp pro
got 2 cards on an ad hoc network .. it worked for a while now its given up
Hello m8.
You have 2 wireless cards in each PC ? What's the signal strength on each card ? Are both PC's connected to the same network ? When you assigned both pc's different ip addy's, did you also make sure the subnet mask was the same ? 255.255.255.0 ? What NTHell modem have you got ? USB or Ethernet ?

Right, here's what I suggest
Uninstall all software for both cards from both machines.
Then, on the main pc, install the software for the card, and set up the network.
IP address, 192.168.0.1 subnet mask 255.255.255.0. Call the computer Eagle, and the network as RS. Then restart the PC. Once restarted, open the network adapter, and make sure it's set to infrastructure.
PC 2, install the software, give it the ip 192.168.0. subnet mask 255.255.255.0. Call the pc Saph, and make sure it's set to connect to the RS network. Reboot the PC, then, once rebooted, set it to infrastructure as well, and see if it pick's up the network.
The main PC has to set up the network, and the 2nd one simply just has to connect to it. I have spent ages with Tony Turbo doing this, and eventually got it working
Only for the damn CPU to overheat and burn a hole in it

PMSL, i don't understand how you've messed it up
Everything i've gone through should get it working, unless there's a possible fault. Does it not even detect a network available ?
