Default need some help ...

bt isdn box .. what do i need to connect to a pc ????



got a usb connector under the box and 2 x lan connectors .. so im presuming its just a case of getting some cat 5 cable and goin from the box to the pc and running the software supplied by bt ???

Unless BT have changed the box (mine never had the USB connector you mention), I think you need an ISDN modem in your PC. Then you run the cable from one of the blue ports on the box to the port on the ISDN card.

I used a BT Speedway card which worked well, I've seen them go on eBay for a couple of quid.

Eagle, try it with the usb, or the ethernet, if fuck all happens, get an ISDN card

did think of that dan .. only other problem is he wants the pc about a good 50 - 75 m away from the box .. i told him to get some form of a grip on reality

what im thinkin is using wireless to goto main pc from his other pc that needs to have a 56k dialup service only so both would be in the same socket ...

some people have no bloody idea

Why the devil does he want the pc so far away ?? You could get an ISDN router, and have that by the box, then do everything wireless

only good thing is its in a garge ... he needs the dialup for the mot's and the isdn for his online repair software ... (free mot 's spring to mind)
why he got bt to fit the box at the back of the garage is beyond me when the main pc is in the front office so wireless it is then .. cheers dan .. look ou for a post of .. it dont work poxy wireless .. in the near future
