E3 so far...
yeah i know.......at first i thought....fuck thats expensive....but thinking a little more considering it comes with a kinect ( not that i care for the kinect) its not too badly priced. Especially when you consider the price of smart phones and ipads etc.
I think the ps4 might be around the same price.
Cant say i was too impressed with xb1. The graphics werent much different to current gens really.... apart from a couple of games that stood out. I was looking forward to bf4 and cod but titan falls looks to be the game i have my eyes on.
Shame sonys press conference is at bloody 2am. Wanted to watch that.
That time slot is a shitter for sony here in the uk. xbox get the jump again. Looks like the xbox one is fully up to schedule too so will deffo hit the shops in nov. wonder if sony can get the ps4 on the shelves in time.
only time will tell

forza 5 will have no ai! All in game opponents will be averaged recordings of everyone else online. Which sounds pretty cool! It will also use people's customisations so you will race against people's modded cars.
yeah that sounded pretty cool........The thought of playing killer instinct again too........used to love that game....probably shit now though lol

Is it really that bad? Considering I payed a very similar amount (slightly more) for my PS3 on release day with one game and one controller!
PS4 does indeed have something up it's sleeve, I was reading up on it in PC Gamer last week, I'll dig it out again.

Hmmm.. Tough decision. From what I've seen so far Sony haven't impressed me as much as I thought they would. You don't really hear much from Sony fans on this. The playstation looks ugly, even compared to xbox one. It will now charge to play online. Saw this coming though. The only major benefits are the used game system, and you don't need to log on every day. Thing is, most people I know only play online so that part isn't an issue. The used game part is. I personally think if xbox was 50 quid cheaper, and didn't require online and allowed used games they would of easily had this in the bag..... Seems like quite a level playing field.

I'm stunned by what sony has revealed.
Used Games, Region free console, no camera and microphone watching you 24/7, no constant online DRM meaning it can be played forever not only until the servers close down, and they will be dishing out free games with playtsation plus, and all for $100 less.
No where near a level playing field!
Are you mad?!?!

playstation miles better as a all round console
Yeah... But as for drm Sony could enable that whenever they want via update.. What you need to remember is it is not Microsoft blocking used games... They have passed the power to the publishers/developers.... So it's them who makes the rules.
Now looking at it like that, developers want control of their games, so who would they prefer to make games for? One where they have the power, or Sony?
You only have to look at exclusives to see who's side developers are on. Ultimate team is xbox exclusive, map packs for bf4 and cod are going to xbox first. The list goes on.
Region free is cool, but most games are released very similar dates and games in the USA don't work out much cheaper so this doesn't really benefit us.
The price difference of the console would take make that much of an impact as there isn't much difference. For example people, especially wouldn't just buy the ps4 because it's cheaper. It's how many a+ games are available and that are coming....
Only time will tell. Both consoles have loyal fans, and it's more down to what my friends get...

I think alot of hidden gems will be swept under the carpet without pre owned games sales as there have been many games iv not been to sure on spending £40 on so iv bought them pre owned and enjoyed them to which lead me to buying the sequal at full price.
Pre owned games have been sold for forever, why stop it? Micosoft are trying to dictate everything and will soon be able to view our homes with kinect, infact going off all the feature they will know too much about us including what we are watching on tv.
The difference in games wont be huge as they both have there own fair share of exclusives and many similar features like blu ray player etc so out of the 2 id rather keep as much of my privacy safe as I can and just play a game lol.
When I was a kid my Nes never tried taking over my life, it just played games . . . Well afterblowing the cartridge a few times lol.
Rock star is one developer out of thousands.... Look at each with their online passes..... They will lap up Microsoft idea.
Thing is the reason Microsoft have gone this route is due to apple. Since apple made such an impact with itunes...where you don't actually own anything....and made billions from it, you get loads of other corps thinking it's acceptable. Exactly same thing going on now with Sony charging for online play. But because xbox live was a better service, Sony will now claim as you are paying you will get a better service. So people will accept it.
Like I said, firmware can soon change drm for both consoles. Developers want as much cash as possible and if they think they will get more for their game on xbox, who are they going to concentrate on?
You look at the lack of patches released for ps3, map pack delays etc, even to walk into game or gamestation. There seem to be far more games on xbox than ps3. Xbox games were cheaper than ps3 too...especially at launch. That is what swayed me to get an xbox 360 after having ps1 and 2. Even with the added power of ps3, there was never much difference graphically between consoles....
I would really like to jump back to playstation but unless I see real support from developers, it will struggle. Same goes for Microsoft.Thing is, Microsoft appear to have that area covered as we have seen from ea,rare,Activision, cod series, even got the jump on map packs for battlefield from what I've read. I know not everyone likes cod.but its the biggest selling game period.now peeps looking to buy a new console, see map packs and extras will hit xbox first... What console will they go for?
Got carried away with my rant. Lol

At the end of the day theres a long time till either get launched so there will be many changes to both machines.
It amazes me how people are stating which will be best, even though we're 6 months away from launch!
In regards to the drm issue, ALL games developers will use it to protect against piracy which in my opinion is a good thing. No developers = No games.

I think they both look great in what they have to offer, ps4 looks nicer but the xbox just offers more in the way of entertainment for the family other than just a games console and blu ray player.
When you talk about pros and cons, which includes the fact xbox are going to charge after a game has been used twice, so how many of you lend a game out, I know I don't, the people I play with buy the games so we can all go online, so I will buy the game use one of its online passes and then trade it in, that way its still worth the same money as if I was trading the ps4 version.
As for online playing there is nothing between them, in order to play online with the ps4 you now need a multiplayer subscription, but as everyone knows who has had both consoles xbox live as a package wins. Plus as for xbox needing a 24 hour check, that doesn't affect me or anyone with an internet connection which lets be honest is most people nowadays.
For people saying about price I think as the xbox comes with the Kinect the price is justified, the ps4 doesn't come with the ps eye which will cost about £60 so there's your price difference. If you think about how many families have an xbox and brought the Kinect when it came out to play games as a family, its a good idea to include it as a package for skype calling etc etc.
Like what has already been said about the games, xbox has a lot more exclusive products and the fact map packs etc will be released on it first.

Ea, Activision, Rare are not exclusive to Microsoft, (Yeah microsoft has payed out alot of money to get map packs a few days earlier. Which has happened before and I hardly think getting a map pack 48 hours earlier is a big bargaining chip)
Playstation has naughtydog, quantic dream, sucker punch... not to mention all the indie developers that have moved away from Microsoft because of their ridiculous rules and percentage cuts.
Also with developers making money from dlc, micro-transactions they will side with the console that sells the most, or do what most developers do, which is go multiplatform like ubisoft, square enix etc..
Going from the internet's reaction (reddit etc) its the Xbone that's going to struggle. Just looking at my facebook newsfeed this morning 6 of my friends have now cancelled their xbox pre-orders after that sony press conference.
Oh and no Cod game is the biggest selling game of all time, Nor is Cod as a franchise
EDIT: and before people jump on the xbox "family entertainment features" like TV etc bandwagon, look how much of that is USA only.

People playing it, although I'm guessing it was scripted and test played before hand.

the PS4 controller looks horrid and awkward to hold, what's always swayed me to the 360 is how much more comfortable the controller is hold but £90 for new controllers for both consoles is a bit much
