It is me or does the fuckin thing not work correctly

Reason i asked is i was watching a friend play it on the Xbox and said 'I'm sure we don't get the screen all filled in on the PS3'
Then starts gonig on PS£ shit etc etc so i got home had a game and it was indeed blank... Wierd....
