Xbox 360 red ring around the power button*been collected*
Help,Bloody things packed up.
Half way through watching a dvd and it lost the pic then spat out the disk.I turned it off then back on and the red light can on.
Its still in warrenty, so I'll send it back.
Has anyone else had experince with doing this?
How long will it take and how do you go about it?

Go the Microsoft site and there should be instructions on how to get a support call raised and the xbox collected/repaired.

Mines been away a week according to UPS its due back to me on the 7th.
Go to the xbox website and then to the support menu and all is explained

it will be repaired if you get in touch with microsoft i think thats the best part about the xbox if it breaks it will be repaired but if my ps3 dies then thats it time to get another

my brothers friend said he sent his back and it got repaired for free even though it never had warranty

No because sony will give you a recon machine, ive had 2 from them now

IIRC you dont need the receipt you just type in the machines microsoft code and the site will tell you if its still in warranty

the ring of death is covered under 3yr warranty (ie all of them) so you can always get it fixed for free

I just signed up and it said its out of warrenty, I just dont want to spend say £60-70 getting it fixed when they only 130 new now.

I had to go through all this crap and sign up as I dont use xbox live.
Takes a while but quite a good service tbh, it tells you what to do.
And yes the red ring is covered by the 3yr wrnty.
I just placed my order so should be all sorted in 20days so they say.

when this happened to me mine was out of warranty but they extended the warranty on all xbox so they will fix it for free, it took 2 weeks to get mine back

Ok so I sorted it out on through the microsoft site and the ups dude just picked it up 20mins ago.

Ok my console was returned by ups at 14.00 today,all fixed, my memory intact with a month free xbox live to say sorry .
Great service really, even tho it should'nt of happened anyway.
