how exactly does it work? will it really help my d/l speed that much? is it worth the hassle of setting up? ( i read a guide and it gave me a headache )

yes it will help ur download speeds massively if your on a network.

its not that hard to set up, have your tried looking at www.portforward.com ? theyre guide is very good and even gives you router specific guides on how to set it up.

has pictures and everything lol

i know it has pictures also lots of words tho


it doesnt list my modem tho (i have a router lying here as well but it didnt work as well as me old modem)


not on a network...still worth an hours headache?

you only need to portforward if your running a network, if you have a direct connection to the internet (not shared out to different computers via a router) you don't need to portfoward.

if your running a firewall, u may need to configure that, but thats a different ball game
