I rate winamp over windows media player a thousand fold m8, can't fault it in the slightest

A media player will only be as good as the music your playing throught it, and the speakers it's coming out of

VLC (Video Lan Client) -designed to play media over a network, it has low resource use and great performance plays near on everything without issue

Agreed, it's only good for playing real movie files. Once you install it you have to run msconfig to stop it loading on startup. I only got it installed because some of my video convertors get the hump if you don't have it

personally I think its probably the fastest and lightest media player around and I doubt much is better at handling streaming media

yeah but for me VLC is like winamp, its just a basic "play your music" and thats it, you cant have any fancy music enhancements like media player 11.
I agree its great for playing files that no other player will play though.

Ive got a X-fi soundcard a logitech 5.1 speakers so i think ive got the right to say which sounds best and its media player 11 by a long shot
