ive installed carameggdon 2 with these banger racing files from here

everytime i run the game it cums up with

carma2_hw.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

its anoying me ive reinstalled the game afew times

ive had it working 1 time

when i load it up the next time it sez this again, doing my head in

any ideas?

its nothing to do with the banger racing files, it does it on the normal game too

 

What happens if you run it in compatibility mode ?

If you click start, go to programs or all programs, then go to the carmageddon folder, then right click on the carmageddon 2 shortcut, there's an option to run it compatibility mode

 

still no good, my compataibility mode doesnt have a option to select xp, only got win 95, 98, NT and 2000

game works on my laptop but its too slow to play but loads up fine so its not the cd

 

its wierd, just worked for me then, but tried to play it again error message again

 

That's because you're already USING Windows XP......compatibility-mode was introduced into XP so that you could play games that were only supposed to work on older versions of Windows. Try setting compatibility-mode to Win98, and see if it works with that.

Unintall it, restart the machine, then reinstall the game
