Files, as in how many MP3 files are in the folder, like so;

In that folder you can see 13 files, as in 13 individual mp3 tracks.

Why Media Player isn't playing all the files tho is odd. When you select play all from the left panel pane in the folder what happens? What do you see listed in Media Player? Does it show all the song titles in the right pane of Media Player? Like so;

I can't see it being down to anything like ID3 tags, as even if you have no ID3 tags Media Player still plays everything, just usually in alphabetical order rather than ID3 order.

Try this, highlight all the files in the folder, and right click on one (so that they all stay blue. From the drop list you get from right clicking select PLAY, and tell me what happens....

Ok, files= songs, lol, sorted

When im looking at the screen in the one you used to describe what files are and i click play all nothing happens, it doesnt even go to windows media player, a wee egg timer appears for a nano second then feck all!!!

when i do what you said in the bottom part, highlight them all then play, it works no problem, plays all the files one after the other

That is weird then! That must be to do with the system process then, and there must be a glitch in it. Does it do this with any other folders with music in? Or deos it work?

Come out of that folder, to the main folder so you can see this new folder. Right click on it and go to PROPERTIES. Select the CUSTOMIZE tab and in the first drop menu (labled WHAT KIND OF FOLDER DO YOU WANT?) open that and select MUSIC FROM ONE ALBUM (or MUSIC FROM ONE ARTIST if you like, but album would be better, but whatever)

Then try it again. Might not do anything as it sounds like a system problem, but worth a shot. Might just be confused.....

Then you have a system fuck up. Nothing much you can do about that other than to try an OS repair using the XP disc or a reinstall. Neither of which is probably worth losing all your shit over.

this is happening to me now very annoying

it isn't a fault in media player alone though, it fails to play all whatever program is used to play music files
