at the moment, i have spent the past hour doing this

i'm using excell to tot up the drivers hours at work, but for some unknown reason, certain sheets won't do the normal "drag the cell down/across/up and the same formula is copied over to get the same results" thing

ok, that sounds crap, her's another example

i've got the formula of =Sum(b3:e3) on one sheet
and if i were to highlight the cell with that formula and get the little cross and drag it down one cell, the formula would change from +SUM(b4:e4)
and so on and forth until the number just went up as high as i wanted them to go

on another sheet, this doesn't happen and i can't understand why, all i've done is copied the normal format of drivers/days worked/hours etc over and some of them have been fine and osme of them are behaving like total crap

do i need to start a new sheet from scratch and do it all over again?

i wanted to sort all this out tonight so i could spend tomorrow doing the last 5 months worth of sheets, but to no avail

anyone who can shed some light on this please help

Ctrl +C to copy then Ctrl +V to paste?

copy the formula then highlight all the cells you want the formula to go into then paste

 

that might be an idea mate, but i want the cells to change the formula individually from one to the next

i think i can't explain it propelry so i'm a bit

say i have one that goes =sum(b4:c4) and it's in the cell f4
when i go to that cell, find the bottom right hand corner and then drag the little cross down, the numbers stay the same on some parts of the page but on others they start to change
for example, dragging the cell down and it changes from b4:c4 to b5:c5 and then b6:c6 and so on
the numbers go up automaticaly
but on other sections of the page the same formula repeats itself when you drag it, so it stays b4:c4 all the way down
i want it to change and the numbers to go up but i can't do it
