time has come for me to sell the 4i
it is a road going AWSOME trackday/drift car.
ive done 400miles since buying it and 330miles of them was driving it home from Essex to Cornnwall where it didnt miss a beat and at 60mph it returned 38mpg!!

ive bought a Bmw E36 estate with an M3 EVO engine so the 4i is not going to be my toy any longer.

the mot ran out on 30th jan so ill put a fresh mot for new owner
tax is untill now 2010

its a 1983 with.............
24v Boa Cosworth engine with FULL stainless exhaust and 2 front boxes removed to clear the antiroll bar.

gearbox is the xr4i type 9 which is a bit nosiy but is fine, i had a MT75 hybrid which was going to go in when the type 9 let go but it hasnt so i sold it, i have flushed the oil and used some active8 (expensive) additive

new 2wd Cosworth clutch

4x4 cosworth back axle with discs and LSD and also got a locked diff for driftin gn the boot. (was fitted but as i wanted to drive to and from trackdays and not just drift with the car so i fitted the LSD).also had active 8 additive and flush old diff oil and replace with new.

front brakes are new 2wd cosworth.

big adjustable drift handbrake with master cylinder inside car.

WHEELS...................

Its got 5x 3 DOOR cosworth wheels on at the moment with brand new 195 50 15 Toyo R888 roadlegal trackday tyres but these are not in the sale. (they are for sale seperately though at £600) got caps, locks and KEYS!!tyres alone cost me £390 fitted

i will be fitting either.......
15" Escort Triangle wheels or after market 10 stud (ford and vauxhall) alloys or 17" black 17" Wolfrace wheels.
it drifts ACE on 15" wheels not tried it on 17's

also have a big spacer kit to puff the earwheels out for wider track but they are off the car at the moment.


NEW Gaz FULLY adjustable coilovers all round.

Full 4 wheel alignment been done and is set up for road use with 350miles each way to the track in mind!

half roll cage and rear strut brace.

battery in middle of rear seat area for weight balance with battery box and battery cut off key, this can easy go back under the bonnet if wanted.

the rev counter is from the Cosworth so is calibrated and the speedo is from a 2wd cosworth.

push button start, auto eletric fan with overide switch with BRIGHT light so you know its on.

heater still fitted and works perfect.

Bucket seats and 3 point harnesses with 3 door steering wheel.

power steering fitted

still got the check computer and it all works!!!

if you wanted to put this back to a 5 seater then you would only need the setas and parcel shelf trims all holes are stil there, the cage rear facing supports would need to be removed to get rear seats back in.
the dashboard and door cards are there back and front as is the xr4i bodykit.

BAD POINTS

now and again the starter motor plays up and needs a tap to get it going, the car needs a little TLC for LOOKS ONLY. The car is SOILD AND DOSNT NEED ANY WELDING ETC ETC.
the last owner polished the paint a little hard and has gone through on the edges looks ok for a street car and MINT for a track car.
small amount of rust on front wing, very very good under bodykit.
all in all the car is easy worth £2000 in parts but i want it gone so ill sell for £1500 with full years mot and tax till nov 2010

i will be putting the car on ebay as it needs to go and although id rather sell it to fellow members needs must so get in fast if you want more info.
if i get time i will be selling the number plate as ive been offered silly money for it so it might well have a different numberplate when it sells but it will all be done with no hasstle to new owner

The beds rsoc track day is on the 20th not the 27th if thats the track day your refering too if so will see you there sadly not in my 3door as i just sold it>

ok a few more pics of it and the wheels
i washed it today and the paint isnt great if im honest, last owner has rubbed through the paint in a few places but as said is mint for a track car.
the front N/S wing has a small hole in the top and the sunroof has silicone around it.
i remember the last owner saying he did it as it leaked, needs a new glass as the metal sealing ring around the glass leaks.

other than that all is well.

i was going to do the rsoc but the next weekend is 27th and rockingham so its just one trip up and two trackdays for me, seeing as its a 900mile round trip id rather not tow the 4i but can if people want to see/drive it at the track

NEEDLESS TO SAY no test pilots unless the FULL amount of cash is in my hand first but your more than welcome to hitch a lap or three

ok been to the mot station andl ooked underneath and found.........
lots of welding needed.
drivers side sill, both rear inner arches, and the front foot well.
i cant be arsed to weld it as i dont have the time plus its worth more if i break it.
so offers are
£2000 no mot BUT as is in the pictures with
cosworth wheels, triangle wheels, 8 stud wheels, 17" wheels AND anoter set of 205 50 15 tyres, or if peole do want it then please let me know, pay a deposit and you can still have it for £1500 moted with the triangles on it.
i dont want to mot it and not sell as it dont need an mot for trackdays and its worth much more than £2000 broken up
dash is mint no cracks and the grill is a genuine one.
coiovers are brand new as are the R888 tyres
no need to go on and on but its a bargin at £2000 with all the wheels, if you can weld its a weekends work if you cant then its about £300 worth for mot standards or more like £500-700 for showroom work however ALL the welding cannot be seen under the kit and under the car.
