i know of one its a 1600 ghia, which an old man has owned for years and has just died, the outside is in great condition with no rust at all, its done 80k and even still has the dealer stickers, the inside is like brand new too, beleive its taxed and tested and is up for £500, its just sat in the car park at work since it was brought about a month ago, quite sad really bit of a waste, not to up on what shapes what it has the series one rs turbo shaped headlights if that helps but it has an private plate on, i will try and find out the year if ur interested and just to add i have never seen an 1600 cvh sound so quiet, NO TAPPING AT ALL

nope, mates wanting a decent shell for a track car actually! My shells going to get refurbed, it isnt that bad. someones bodged a front end on it and some sills, just going to take it all off when its getting fab'd and redo it.
Think my builds on hold for a while, the missus is wanting a new house and all the cash sitting there for the car is burning a hole in her pocket

he says he wants somethign that hasnt been messed about with ie no welding etc and the easy way to know is the mileage/history without having to travel all the way down south for somethign that was advertised as a solid shell and it turns out isnt, which has happened too many times now, he cant be arsed traveling anymore to shells that are not as advertised.

The Mk4 came out in what, 1987? So the youngest Mk3 will be 23 years old. That means that 80k is well under 4k miles per annum - you'll struggle to find one with less than that.
Also, and as said, cars of that age are better bought on condition than age or mileage neither of which have much bearing on the tinworm. We inherited an uncle's Mk3 when it was about 6 years old and it was rotten inside and out, despite being a one owner, low mileage car. Him living on the Isle of Skye just left it exposed to salty air all the time.
