M4DRST "The Trolley" - New carbon
Well hello everyone i thought i might show you guys some pictures of my experiences with my
Ford Fiesta Mk3 from 2006-current.
2011
2007 - August.
Lets see it all started about 5 years ago when i sold my astra van to move up in the world and by my first Ford, a Black Hreg Fiesta Turbo.
Yes i rushed into it and shortly after buying it it went wrong burst hose new cam new turbo and starter motor and a smoked immobiliser.
But after 5months of owning it i decided it was time to put it in a garage for winter and rebuild the engine ready for the new Ford year.
Then this happened..........
[img][/img]
Oh dear i thought to myself (yeah likely)
So quick call to my bro to tell him in tears mind due, that my car was flooded. His reply was dont worry i have one of those hoovers that sucks water up.
You should have seen his face when he turned up.
Unfortunatly i only have these pictures of the car only two i own gutted.
[img][/img]
Well with the insurance company not paying out only one thing i could do wait a year until loan paid of and get another car.
This time round i opted to go searching for a base model with a good shell and build a fresh car up with new parts and left over bits from the wet car.
This is how this ended up after a years build full stage three spec engine from specialised engines stage 3 hybrid T3 and various oyher gooodies.
[/img]
[img][/img]
So far so good i thought so i approached a couple of tuners and got myself some free passes to Trax and my car on a stand in the main paddock i was dead chuffed.
Or was i.... well the night before Trax the bird gets back from her hols so i take her out for dinner.
Get to the end of a road and some crazy girl decides to attempt to drive into the road im pulling out of and oh boy t-bone me hard.
Luckily i had a rollcage fitted and that was the end of that litle Fiesta.
Thats it give up surely well with a lovely insurance payout third time round i was going to do it properly.
SO i bought a Mplate rs1800 and from buying it i drove it straight home and stripped it. This was going to my new project full respray inside outside underneath wuth new doors tailgate and bonnet.
Hope you all like please let me know your views

cheers mate
The pictures so far only show the radiator. I have opted for a full width rad rather than 3/4 size and 1/4 size intercooler.
The intercooler has been made and in the process of being fitted i shall post up images on saturday.
As for the windows they are from a company called
plastics4performance.co.uk
01204 696 609
Hope this helps

Few more pictures
Here you can see the the new front panel alteration so i fit larger rad in and leave enough for a rear mounted fan i have fabricated this plate and had the cross member strengthened and some threaded rivots added.
Once they have been painted they look almost factory so i was happy with result. now that the rad is in it has saved so much room now fit in between the turbo and bumper a fan radiator and a 65mm deep intercooler and still room to spare. only sacrifice is losing the bonnet catch and having bonnet pins. Adds to the overall look though.
[/img]
Now i want the car to be finished from top to bottom so everything has been striped replaced or re coated in either chrome or powdercoat finish.
The underside has been treated to this picture shows it slightly, more to add soon.
The inside i have planned out but has been the hardest part as everything standard has gone bar the loom, Ihave cut all the unnescessary goodies out so now central locking power windows or stereo. Then the loom has been fed through the chassis so upfront there is no visable wiring.
Just a 2inch diameter polished bar which the nine Autometer gauges fit to in chrome pod mounts. Then i made this out of carbon to hold warning lights and swithes, mainly for mot purposes.
Dont like it though so its under my bed now.[/img]
I have made a new one now which is being flocked at moment so i will show inside once that has arrived back.
The stering wheel is also flock like and is a suede flat bottomed sparco number lovely to hold so should be wicked round a track. With the bottom missing it will help immensley to get in out of the deep bucket seats.

Engine bay shot

Bit more to do before finished but should see the road soon.
As for the price for the five windows about 180 i recall. Takes about two weeks . Look smart but hard to fit .

perspex/heater
Hi tom, i have a heater fitted in the car now got heater matrix unit in and modified the plastic casing so as to blow onto front screen and keep all things moisture free. Although i will only use during the good moths of the year, we still do live in England and those summer nights do get a bit chilly. Agood friend of mine bought a stripped out cossie mk2 escort with no heater that changed my mind about not having one in mine. Drove it back and i wsas frozen.
As for the windows i had not even thought of that mate i will have to look into that.
If i ever have any problems my nearest available exit will be the sunroof.
I have not had the car on the road yet but il keep you posted.

Gauges
I have attached some of the gauges into the stainless bar across the a-pillar and they are individually mounted in chrome pods
[img]
Got to put the rest in at weekend
Took a shot of the coilover all tarted up stripped the hubs down as they looked really scabby and had them blasted and then powder coated, all new bolts fitted to.
[/img]
From this angel you can see the new mirrors i think they really suit the fiesta not sure what you all think please let me know your views.
You can also see the pods mounted to the bar in-total there will be 9 gauges.
1. Speedo
2. Rev counter
3. Fuel level
4. Fuel pressure
5. Water temp
6. Oil Temp
7. Oil pressure
8. Volts
9. BOOST.
The back of the car sees a fibreglass/kevlar tailgate with perspex window fitted the tailgate is only single skin so i have used bonnet pins to secure things.

Where did the water come from
Well in response to your question of Where did the water come from?
It rained good and hard in Portsmouth for about two hours and unfortunatly the pumping station that pumps all the storm water from Portsmouth packed up so 8 square miles worth of rain water, sewage and god knows what else decided to come back out the drains and flood the lowest part of Portsmouth, My road.
Kind of lucky my house is further up the road so just the garden flooded but my garage at the end of the road was waist deep in water, strange thing was when i lifted the garage door up all the lights wer on full beam under the water, well spooky.
The fuse box is mounted in pretty much the same location as the original except for a aluminium fronted console which i fabricated , pictures soon to follow.
