M4DRST "The Trolley" - Ford Fair 2013
#41
Well almost four weeks has past and i have been busy everthing is attached to the car after a hectic weekend round my mates garage, to use the ramp.
All new drive shafts and c.v boots fitted fuel lines and tank up with new Ford retaining bolts and nuts. New water pump tensioner and cambelt.
Once all filled with oil and fluids it was time to start the engine.
Turned over nicely and wanted to fire up but then would not fire up.
So for past two weeks i have tried everything and to my annoyance same position. Just turns over and over but wont cough into life.
So today i have the auto electrician coming round to check things over it has to be electrical because everything mechanical is spot on.....
Once started i shall drive it out the garage and post some more pictures up.....
Fingers crossed everyone for today................

I love the shot of the back. Makes me think of an RS500 for some reason. Just a car Ford built to go fast, and it's being used very purposefully on the track, liking the tailgate catches etc, makes it look very "race" Hope you got on ok today! Oh, and SNAP with the brakes!

RESULT - The car started today after two weeks of trying it finally took its first gasp of air.....
After the engine just turning over and over and not firing up i just about checked everything spark fuel compression timing still no go.
So Thursday just gone after 4days delay the auto sparky arrived, i had convinced myself it was an electrical fault....
Was it?
No, he said that the fuel pressure could be low due to having the fuel feed going to the return.....
Noway i would have done this but i swappped them round anyway and i was right did not start still.
So It was a good friend of mine who suggested towing the car and forcing the thing to start.
It started but only running on two it was purring away but sounded as flat as last tuesdays pancakes.
Back to the drawing board- once it was running we pulled of the leads one by one and 2 and 3 there was no difference frim removing the lead whereas 1 and 4 would almost cut the engine off.
New plugs then perhaps so new set purchased this morning and same synptons so new coil next this didnt o a thing so after taking that back it was a quick blast up the motorway to Ford before the 1pm closing time.
Made it with plenty of time
Back to the garage and IAN (bromley - saph track car build on here) was luckily there to lend a very helping hand.
And witness the scary process!!!!!!!!!
You guessed it still no joy so with a pulse going to the injector there was only one thing left to do take the injectors out and clean them.
Inlet off and fuel rail un bolted and a quick tug on the injector rail to release the injectors three pop out and the middle one ARGH!!!!!!!!
only decides to drop its plastic end cap down the lower half of inlet manifold. So off comes that and its only fallen onto the valve that thankfully was shut, after fiddling with tweezer shaped objects i wrapped some duck tape round my finger and thankfully it stuck.
I blasted the injectors with carb cleaner and reassembeld..
YES IT STARTED AND PURRED LIKE A BABY ,
Sorry i didnt get a chance to photograph today,
But its Mot week at last Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I AM OVER THE MOON TONIGHT BUT EXTREMLEY TIRED
