Default Is it worth

Getting my turbo replaced on Tuesday is it worth getting a remap £300 while I'm there says it will totally change the car not sure

Yeh Defo. When cars have been set up properly they are totally different. Well mine was.

when you say turbo changed?
you mean for a replacement unit that's the same, if so, no point doing anything unless you are after more power and economy.
it will run just fine being replaced.

if you mean remapped then you will get more power and economy, e.g. bora tdi 130bhp hit 170bhp better economy too, 3.0td bmw 231 standard, now approx 280bhp, better on juice by around 10%

only if you upgrading the turbo to a better spec otherwise no point if you had car setup previously

turbo making right whistling noise took it to turbopacs durham and they confirmed turbo is knackered so getting it replaced with reconditioned standard turbo and was offered a remap at the same time for £300 should I still expect a difference?

remap will be worth it if you're increasing performance, won't do anything it trying to map a turbo to work with engine.
