1.3 and 1.6 na cvh piston differences?

Whulst i'm here, the guy who's usually does headwork for me, ie pressure testing skimming etc, said he can rebuild my rst bottom end for Ł250 by using .5 o/s xr3i dome topped pistons and machining then flat.
Am I being paranoid or is that a terrible idea?
If its not a terrible idea, I'm gonna buy a full set of 1300 ones and machine them.

i done it a few years ago in a 1.6 turbo with standard pistons just skimmed down, i had no bother.

i would run a mile mate, thats a real pikey thing to do the rs turbo pistons are squeeze cast and xr3i pistons are just cast that's why they cost a bit more
thats as about as mad as using two head gaskets on a 1.6 na bottom end to lower the comp
