Default What Gasket Sealant?
To do the cam cover half moon and sump half moons?

If it's a cometic sump gasket mate, we used no sealer at all only a touch of tiger seal on the half moons. Again only a touch of tiger seal on the rocker cover half moons if using a cometic.

LOCTITE 5900 or 5910, needs putting under the front caps as well as they leak from here too.

Tabetha is that the stuff thats in a decent size tube and about £14.00??

If so ive just re done mine again, seems fine ticking over, just hope it is under load!!

As I work for Vauxhall my Cossie gets what ever I can book to a warranty job Found Vauxhalls grey sump sealant to be excellent for Cossie sumps, cam covers, and exhaust joints so far....and its free

Where the half moons sit in the grooves, this IS the to surface of the front cam bearing caps, they often leak from between these adn the head that they bolt down onto, so I always just put a SMEAR of sealant under these caps then torque down again.
LOCTITE has been my choice of GASKET for years, never met anything that even come close, as soon as I saw it was way better than hylomar etc, gave all my hylomar away .
It's uses don't stop with the car though, just mended me mums scarecrow garden ornament with the stuff, his legs fell off, teach him to get pissed, wouldn't get legless then!!
