bringing this topic back up to the top.
the car has been out of action since last year and it's time to get my finger out and sort it out.
what would be the best cam combination for fast road and limited track duties (up to 450bhp)?
i've been thinking about the Kent AB07 (or Newman PH1) inlet cam, although, what would be the ideal exhaust cam spec?
Also, is it worth going for a BD14 inlet given the slightly longer duration & higher lift?

I tried to buy one new and couldn't
I was advised to buy a new improved cam call a Tr255 or something
Kent - Offered me alternative and could not supply AB07 cam's as they are copy right protected
Newmans - Offered there own cam
Turbosystems - Offered me a TR255

would i benefit though by going for a higher lift/duration exhaust cam, or is it not really worth it?

MSD have it in their webshop too.
http://shop.motorsport-developments....ind-1563-p.asp
Bonus if they have an offer on - as they are known to do from time to time

what are your thoughts on an exhaust cam?
if i was to upgrade the exhaust cam, am i better of going for the same spec as the inlet, or is it ideally better to go for a smaller lift/ less duration cam?
fyi, the car is a road car (RS500), so i'd like to retain (or even improve) response & mid-range torque.
cheers,
Goran

As Mark Shead said, that is the only way you will get a genuine one.
Newmans don't make them.
MSD don't have them and will supply you with a Newmans equivilant, I've tried.
Kent cams said to me - Ahmed asked Kent to make him x amount of cams to his own spec and he took them, originals have AB07 stamped on the end or KCAB07.
Maybe worth a shot at Grove garage but it was a long time ago they were done. Unless he can authorise Kent to make another

righto.
how about power & torque, what was the improvement?
which cam is preferred by fast road owners, AB07 (original or Newman equivalent) or BD14 spec?
also, if i wanted to upgrade the exhaust cam at the same time, which spec would work best with the AB07 or BD14?
FYI, the car will be street driven so looking for strong mid-range to torque/power.

Just goes to show what a great forum this used to be and still is a data bank of info
Looking for some std type cams for my YB powered Mk2 and someone mentioned Ahmed Bayjoo cams as a possible option.
I see Kent still list the AB07 and say no piston mods, Burton also list the cam https://www.burtonpower.com/sports-r...new-ab07i.html
Burton also lists a exhaust cam but notice Kent dont list it on there site ? https://www.burtonpower.com/sports-r...new-ab07e.html
Anyway anyone ever ran these cams in a std head / std piston configuration ?

Hi,
i did and that time pistons were without mods and engine was on ut t38... it gave just some 490 Nm on dyno during mapping session,it just didnt want to go more..wasnt happy with as i wanted more live car so swapped that one with bd 12 and efr 7064 this time with some worked engine..
that was much much better as the power delivery was way low down and it drives well...

I have just got my Escos set up with a EFR 7064 BD12/14 cams and although it fast and pulls like a train 3400 on, it is a bit laggy below that, with my MK2 escort i really dont want it laggy, its on a T34 hybrid and was looking for a cam/cams to try and give me more drivability. Going with std cams get it on the road and see how it feels.
