Default mt75 gearbox query

hi guys just wanted to confirm that the mt75 4x4 box out of a 2.0 dohc xr4x4 will fit the Yb engine and is the same box as the sapphy and escos.

I know the 2.8/9's had a different bolt spacing on the gearbox but i think the 2.0 dohc engine has same as a cossie....

So just for peace of mind as i'm thinking of buying one...and the bellhousings are integral so i need to be sure

No reason why it would'nt be the same box, incidently every ford engine and box had the same bolt pattern untill the duratec engine was introduced.

You need to make a few simple changes to it in order for it to be mated to a cosworth

You will need the clutch release arm from a cosworth - Ford still supply them new for Ł20 also you need to replace the lug in the bell housing to which the release arm connects, to a cosworth version - again available from Ford for a fiver -just tap it out and replace

If you dont do this then the clutch wont engage as the travel is different on the 2 litre version as the flywheel is thicker

This I found out the hard way but box has been good as gold for a couple of years now and was a lot cheaper without the dreaded cosworth word

yeah i have just gotten hold of a low mileage 2.0 dohc and i brought a box for 50 quid a week ago... so i now have a spare....

Trouble is ford no longer do the pivot part i need to convert them to cosworth clutch fork (they do the fork and bolt but not the pivot piece :S)

Any ideas guys? or i'll end up having to have a couple made if anyones interested?
