sump gasket sealant which loctite 574 or 5980??
its not another sump gasket of how to this time to join the rest as I'm all clued up on doing this from reading lots of posts.
my question is the use of loctite that has been mentioned in the the threads of how to do the sump, i have the selector chart and wondering which to go with, considering 574 which is a mull-gasket application, or the 5980 which is flexibonding sealant especially suitable for permanent contact with oil suitable for sump, cams, block applications etc, I'm thinking the 5980 my question is what have people been using as the 574 is to be used with a gasket and the oil suitable sump 5980 is meant to be used instead of a gasket altogether and just stick it to the block with out a gasket.
surely thats a better option than using a gasket where its trial and error for weeping around the moon sections

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
Don't use sealant on any of it!
Not sure as to why it's better fitted dry but I did mine a year ago and it's still bone dry.
As the engine was in the car I used some spots of super glue to hold the gasket in place on the block while I carefully put the sump into position. It's also important to torque it correctly.
