ok, this is what I've had,

38 in a 30 = 3 points and a 60 quid fine
99 on the A3 near Guildford 6 points 150 quid
107 on the M25 at 3am on a Sunday morning, 28 day ban and 150 quid
69 (NIP) in a 50 (3 lane carriageway in Bagshot leading to the M3 that used to be a 70 limit) 3 points and a 60 quid fine.

Does your Mrs have a clean licence, what time of the day was it, what was the weather conditions, how was the traffic flow and most importantly, where did it happen?

This will be points and a small fine, I'm fairly sure.

never heard or seen of anyone getting flashed by motorway cameras unless it was a indicated speed restriction by those overhead jobbies!
been through plenty of those cameras and silly speeds i'm sure there only on for when there is a situation or road works

It'll be 4-6 points and a Ł150 plus fine I reckon. Got done for 99.6 and they told me similar to the others - anything over 95 and it's needs to go to court.

A ban would be very harsh.

Thanks for that.
Not that it's any of your business or that I particularly give a toss what you think.. this was 14 years ago at 2am so not exactly at the busiest time!

Been plenty faster than that on the motorway too.... but these days I generally stay below a ton.

If the Mrs was the one who got court then she'll be fine.
- Note that she'll need to attend court in a sexy red/pink bra, also a white shirt of some kind, nice sexy pair of Frentch Knickers with reveling bottems.

If however it was you,
make sure you get shares in Loub. Vasselling is doing well atm, as you're going to get BUM Raped my son.

Besides the top half of this comment, Good luck...

NEVER trust the old bill when they say that,,,,,, i had that before when i was speeding the line was " just admit your speeding and take the 3 points and fine or ill report you and attend court with my calibrated speedo and risk getting a ban"

i refused and said i wasnt speeding and id have to go to court,,,,,,, the copper sent me away with a warning pmsl

i also got away with doing over 110 in a 50 flashing old bill out of the way and leaving them,,,, and got a warning too but i was totally honest with them but thats cause there was fuck all i could do,,,,,, i was doing 130 at one point and was doing 110 on a bend testing to the handling of the car,,,, fuck using that as a excuse so i just said " nothing i can say that even i would belive"

back on daves thing,,,,,, 97 she might get between 3 to 6 points doubt a ban as thats generally over 105mph,,,,,, though she can try and be cheeky and ask for a speed awareness course,,,,,, you never know

my bro in law has been caught doing 91 in a 60 limit and he's in court on 1st july, solicitor says that he's looking at 6 points min with a licence plea for work, or 7 to 14 day ban, max 57 day ban, and a fine.

Whys that then? Is it more dangerous doing 140Mph on an empty motorway at 2am in a decent car in the dry with good visability, or doing 30Mph in a 30 outside a school at kicking out time, with lots of parked cars, other traffic, busses, kids everywhere , in the fog and rain in an old nail thats just legal with 1.6mm tread on the tyres?

Only one of the above is dangerous, but only one is illegal.... Go figure

People need to think for themselves instead of believing all the "Speed Kills" shit you get force fed by the uniformed tax collectors/angry mums/Hippy greenpeace cunts/ROSPA anoracks etc etc.... Bad driving kills, not speed

97 is abit like 140 your on the brink and it will be how nice the judge is... 90 ur on the brink of a ban 140 ur on the brink of jail.

i got stopped for allegedly doing 140+, they saw me going over a rounderbout i was proper nailing it warm cups fast rounderbout and slip road by the time they hit the slip road i was gone LOL they caught when I was stopped at a rounderbout so they had no proof the copper threatened to show the judge how there 320 interceptor evo doing 130 took so long to catch me up.. so i took 3 points for excess of 50 over a rounderbout. I got a huge bollocking from my other half to that day !

his first words were how long do you expect to keep your licence to which i replied all my life LOL it generally went down hill from there...

96 in a 60 got me 28 days. I'd be surprised if it was anything other than points and fine for sub 100. A lot depends on where you're caught, as different divisions have different limits.

I'd say you were lucky getting an SP30 thats nearly 4 times the speed limit on an SP30. Usually anything over 100mph is an instant ban.

Translated to Copper actually had no evidence at all, so offered a fixed penalty to see if the driver would hang himself , and give the cop an easy ticket

Camera, hope it dont come through

you just beat me lol

Got 6 points and a Ł345 fine for doing 104 on the A1

same as you it was a cop with radar so instant pull

I had to go to court but the cop was ok, said road conditions were clear, good weather and very little traffic on road at the time etc.

...or maybe not.

To all the guys who've posted saying they got points & a fine, do the points gained affect your insurance premiums very much the following year when you renew?

mate i agree with you,,,,,,, some old cars may feel fucked at 100mph but most modern cars are fine and bigger speeds,,,,,, i can drive at 130 with 1 hand on the wheel ( when empty) and not feel the cars front end go light ect or feel like im about to die but back in some old sheds i have owned 110mph felt like the wings would fall off and brakes would be iffy at that speed for a quick stop ect

i recon the speed limit at around a ton is fine though,,, more ill agree unless empty is dangerous but 100mph,,,,, perfect in this day and age

I've been driving performance cars and riding sports bikes for nearly 20 years now, so that's not bad going.

Must be nice to be so controlled that you never break the speed limit, not even once, on second thoughts, I bet you've been over the speed limit more times today then I've been caught speeding, still, you get on that soap box and preach!

I'm quite surprised that no-one has mentioned it yet but bear in mind you were flashed so there is pictoral evidence. Getting your doris to cop the points for you could land you in alot more shit if the picture shows otherwise.

I was clocked over a mile @ 99.4 or 99.6, can't remember which now, and I received 3 points and a Ł60 fine. I was obviously doing more, clocked the undercover Carlton and slowed right down so was very lucky. Plus this was a number of years ago now so things could have changed regarding the law since then.

Dave said he was "flashed" which must mean it was a Gatso, so rear facing, so no face pic!

Also, they process so many claims that no one actually checks through them. It's just a big production line.

I guessed rear facing but it was just a thought. I dont know how much the pics show or how clear they are. Unless his doris is 6ft odd with broad shoulders I assume it would be evident to tell the difference if the driver is within the pic. If they aren't then now worries.

The pictures don't show much, if anything at all. In the ones a friend of mine had requested, you could see the back of his head (Just) and in the second one you could barely see the car, which shows how fast he was going. The fact of the matter is, you'd never have known who it was.

One thing I will say is, even the street sign way out the picture was bright. That flash is very powerful, lol.

Benni.

A mate of mine got flashed doing over 100 and when he got the letter in the post saying who was the driver he said he didnt know, few letters later they gave him 3 points and Ł100 fine for withholding the infomation of who the driver was!
Probably not worth it in your case but for anyone else that gets flashed doing silly speeds might be worth a try

well a few weeks ago i got flashed doing 70 in a 40, plaeded guilty by post (quickest thing to do) but im now up in court on november the 2nd.
I'm a hgv driver and for the court to ban me would be stupid as i wouldnt have any money comeing in at all so i would'nt be able to pay the fine, but a traffic cop has told me it can go either way
