Honestly, women eh!
So much waffle and conflicting info on google about whether its points / ban / 10 years in the clink.
Will it be pleadable by post do you think?

Did you attent court? I was caught in the same way @100 mph and have been shxxxng myself that I will loose my licence. The cops were quite helpful and said that you can plead for them to be lenien.Everyone has the right to use this once and it will gop down on the licence as being used

Does the NIP give the option for a fixed penalty or is that the next stage after you declare who was driving?
Over 10 years ago I got stopped for 97 on the M6 (personally, I'm sure I was a bit quicker than that and the cops were doing me a favour!) but because I couldn't produce my licence at the roadside I had to go to Kendal magistrates court where the fine was something like £400 + £60 court costs. I complained that was unfair compared to the £60 fixed penalty, so they dropped it to £105 total. 3 points too, at that time, but I think they may have toughened up since then.

I was done late last year for 93 in a 70 zone and received 3 points and a £60 fine.
Does the NIP include the option to take the fixed penalty at all? If it does then take it otherwise it will followed by a court date and it is then in the lap of the courts what the result is!

When I got caught speeding on the motorway, the copper told me that "up to 95mph this can be dealt with by means of a fixed penalty - 3 points and £60", very kindly he wrote me up at 95mph and I took the points and the fine...
Not sure if that means that over 95 its no longer a fixed penalty...

definitely shouldn't be a ban Dave. Even if ti was, I got done for an average of 108 (luckily i was slowing from 140 odd and they didn't switch off the radar until i hit 70 so it averaged out more favourably to me!) and was only banned for 2 weeks.
3 points and a fine.. although it wouldn't surprise me if the fine was more than 60 quid.

Like others I was told by coppers who pulled me over on the M1 a few years back that over 95 was a court appearance probably resulting in a ban, but under that was £60 and 3 points. Copper then told me my "average" speed according to their radar was 94.8 and I was a very lucky boy lol

To be fair, there's no context to Charl1e's story - his mate could have been clocked at 93, weaving in and out of traffic on a rainy afternoon/evening/morning rush hour. If that was the case I'd expect him to be fined more than if you were stopped doing a higher speed on a deserted stretch of motorway in the middle of the night - wouldn't you?

10K+ Poster!!
I got stopped for overtaking a undercover car whilst doing a top speed run at 1 in the morning.
Luckily for me he was off duty and had no cameras in the car otherwise he said I'd of been getting screwed for it. I got a severe talking to and drove home below the speed limit lol

This happened to me
Me and my mate were saying how lucky i'd been not to have got caught speeding.
Cue, 20 mins later me standing next to a copper with his speed gun reading 102
Got 6 points for that, he told me if I was doing 99 though he could have given me the 3 points and a £60 fine but as it was over had to go to court.

The problem is, theres no consitsency with the fine/points or ban!! If the rules were set out clearer then there wouldnt be so much confusion!!
I got 3 points for doing a average of 31 over Tower Bridge at 3 in the morning, yet the missus got caught doin 55 in a 30 and got a speed awareness course

A girl i know got stopped for going over 100, the police had been following her for a while, they said the 97mph is the threshold really when it comes to losing your licence. They gave her 2 choices
1. Go to court, they will prove she was doing over 100, and she will lose her licence
2. Admit now that she was speeding and they will record her as only going 97mph and it can all be dealt with out of court with 6 points and a fine.
I think her licence will be ok, just points and a fine
As a general rule if you double the speed limit or go 30mph over it there is a good possibility of a ban, i did 57 in a 30 and got 6 points and £260 fine
