The T1R gets lot of comments about soft sidewalls, so I'm not sure I'd want to use it on a 16" rim. The Yokohama S Drive seems to get good reviews too, but I can't help but wonder if it's too dry optimised for the UK (like all Yoko tyres seem to be)

i had toyos on 16s on my zetec s, 195/45/16 t1rs
and they were awfull, fronts went in 3000 miles , rears in 7k, i do drive it hard but thats ridiculouse.
they felt heavy if that makes sence, like rolling resistance, and untill i scrubbed em down to half tread you could physically feel the move on the tread.
tore a side wall aswell.
now running continental sports and have more grip in the wet than the toyos did in the dry.

They are about as bad as each other, ok if you want a cheap tyre but poor performance.
We had to use C drives for a year in our race series and they were not very good, and rubbish in the wet. Toyo Proxy's are cheap for a reason - they are just a budget tyre, rubbish in the wet and have horrible soft sidewalls which is not a good idea if you have a decent amount of power.
