Federal 595 RS-R one mine. Cheap, sticky, and seem to last long. Dry grip on track is great, levels above T1-R, and wet grip is better than your average street tire. Rears are a little less than halfway through with 17 000 km on clock, fronts little over half, which is normal as mine's a 4x4. When the grip goes(never happened outside of a track), it's gradual and easy to control.
Only downside I've found is that they're noisier than normal street tires, but as that's not an issue with me, I think I'll stay with these.

The wet grip of those Federals, is it on a wet road only, or also with standing water? As I would think that the capability of those tyres to move standing water would be less good than a normal street tyre, which would lead to aqua planing sooner?

Any weather I drove on, cold and heavy rain included, but keeping in mind this is 4x4, and I naturally try to avoid the worn parts on highways. Never aquaplaned, or even lost grip unintentionally. Can break traction on 3rd on wet motorway ramps, but it requires coming on boost at the right time, and it's easy to control.
Don't know about bigger sizes, but 205/50-15 has 8 mm tread as new(mine's now 4-5), so they have some water displacement capability.

100 % useless on snow though!
