Jim, got your text mate, only just got back from work so a bit creak crackered to text back but your bumper is the one to bring old pal.
you dont have to trim the bumper to fit a 4 inch tail pipe mine fits spot on and dead in the middle the only reason i had a heat shield made is it must move about as the car drives as there is movement in the rubbers and touch the bumper burning the paint!

I intend to do all the exterior bodywork eventually but a chassis is a bit much for a start id need to strip mine to a shell just to jig it so ive got a jig for the key cossie subframe mounting points etc.

bigger garage is on the long term cards. need to be able to leave the car doors open for at least 24hours to make rear quarter moulds and a roof mould. rest of the panels i can take off the car over a long weekend and mould.

ariel base for 3 door is also a good idea

What about xr2i/rs turbo/rs1800 fog light surrounds???

Also what about carbon bumper strips and side strips for mk3 fiestas!?

What about a carbon charge pipe (like twins got made for his s2 escort....only not as big....so it doesnt mark the inside of the bonnet/dent the bonnet!! That could also turn to escort rst charge pipes and then "reverse charge pipes" for both the escort or fiesta rst!!

Carbon mk3 fiesta "wiper firewall", carbon edis4 and map sensor bracket.

Also carbon dash surround with multiple guages attached. Same goes with s1 and s2 escorts!!

And carbon "90 spec", "rs1600i", and fiesta rst spoilers would be nice....and also some "exaggerated" versions eg. Even the fiesta one with a "mondeo si" spoiler integrated, or the rs1600i spoiler could have the tail sticking up and out more!! Ohhh and rs500 style splitters for the escort and fiesta would be cool!!

Maybe im dreaming too much, but dont ask, ya dont get

ive never had to trim my bumper to fit a 4" exhaust - whoever told you that dont have their exhaust on properly - thats on both a 3dr and saff.

As Jay says, its good to have the shield as the exhaust does move on the rubbers

Well it was moulded from Jimbo's saph which has had to be cut. I know the tailpipe on his is sticking out more than usual as its going to be running anti lag/launch etc so makes sense to move the flame thrower further away from the bumper.

I dont own a cossie (as much as I wish I did) so any advice from you privaliged owner is much appreciated.

hence my comment earlier in the thread 3 molds to fit one bumper or a universal one that means it fits fuck all lol and i never had to trim my cossie bumper to fit the different pipes i had on it and never trimmed the race cars either ! so jimbo's might end up being a one off mold as i cant see people chopping bumpers up to suite a carbon sheild

Could do with mr gibbs positing a pic of his bumper up as the bit which got cut was inside, which follows the profile around the exhaust, im guessing that there is a bit of plat in the hanger rubbers which cause the exhaust to come into contact with the bumper but I may be wrong.

But in regards to the moulding fitment, which ever the customer asks for, the heat shield will be made to fit that car perfectly, if another mould has to be made the so be it. We will NOT let anything out the door which isnt 100%

The amount of composite competition which is out there at the moment is pretty fierce so quality and customer service is everything, these extra measures are what makes a composite manufacturer stand out from the rest.

We took a pic of the rear bumper with some pen scribbled on it for some feedback as to what people want so if jimbo gets 5 mins would be good to have some feed back from anyone interested as to how they would like it to look/size etc

They are expensive, but in this scenario you get what you pay for, for example the carbon i am repairing for jimbo were made by the same person, I told jimbo we would not even entertain replicating the morettes as we could not compete with the very high quality of them. Will upload some pics at some point but the way the technician has managed to make the strategic cuts in the fabric has enabled a fantastically uniformed finish, even in 4x4 twill which can be very difficult to manipulate through accute angles and small spaces within a mould.

The price jimbo paid for them morettes was more than competative.

We may have a go a some vents in the future though
