Wot do tuners mean when they say do you want a short engine build?

 

basically, just the blockand head - so rebore, new pistons and rings, reground crank and shells, head skim, and new valve guides and regrind.

basically a freshenup of the major components only - so a short motor exhange would be - you unbolt all your ancillaries from your engine (manifolds, turbo, injectors, sensors etc) and swap them onto the new engine.

 

I'd take that to mean the bottom end ONLY ie they rebuild the block(pistons,rings mains and b/ends etc!

 

it is as already said just a rebuild of the complete bottom end

should include

rebore
new pistons & rings
crank regrind new big end and main bearings
new oil pump
new oil seals and crank seals!

 

Short engine is the block and all components internall to the block.

Head is NOT done.

 

 

What would be the cost of short engine rebuild & to recon the head.
