Default xr3i problem????? or is it???

hey people i think i may have a bit of a problem with my f reg xr3i mfi.....

im only getting 30 mpg but this may be bcoz of the really cold weather and my metering valve been open more but also is this affecting the fact that the car really struggles to get past the 100 mph mark not that i need to do that speed which is awhile since i did those kind of speeds so this is a new problem discovered yesterday so i will check all the usual plugs and leads etc etc just wondering could it be a worse problem than this????

cheers steve

should easily get past 110 on the speedo, is it at all rattly from the top end? cam wear can greatly reduce power and the cold weather shouldn't make a huge difference once the engine warms up. maybe worth getting the emmisions checked and set-up too.

is your air box open? because when i used to have xr3i's i found that opening it slightly would improve acceleration slightly and i would also lose out top end speed, also when its open it used to guzzle the petrol

probly cost you about 35 quid for a kryptone tuneup including setting the CO% and ign. timing and checking all your sparks for strength etc.
