My maties got a clifford 300 alarm on his motor, its got the normal red signal led light from the G4 range of alarms.

Anyways he bought a blue led thats normally fitted to the G5 range normally with the concept 650alarms, he cut both wires and joined them in line with his old light.

The problem hes getting is though, he's pretty sure his batteries good, but everytime he goes to start the damn thing, one of the buzzers or relays behind the dash starts making a whirring and dead kinda buzzzzzzzzzzz noise until it dies. Also if he presses the horn it sounds like the cars got a flat battery as it sounds all dead and flat.
Also his clifford alarm keeps going off, whirring for a few secs, stops then it starts again, also the central locking works slowly too.

Now i said o him it sounds like the batteries stuffed, but he's charged it overnight and he's put a tester on it and its holding 12.1 charge, but when he goes to start it just clicks, if u keep the key tuned over u can hear a buzzer relay or something kinda dying in the background.

The only thing he's changed is the led if this would make a difference if he's got the positive an negative the wrong ways round.


I helped yesterday to see what i reads when the led flashes etc, with the tester on the battery.

Anyone now if i should check some reading. If the positive an ne gative are on the wrong way round for the signal light, wha kind of symptoms would he be getting from the alarm or car?
