Default amal valve question (mines unplugged)

I've just picked up my new 4x4 cosworth today. It has an uprated actuator, greens, 3bar map sensor, chipped.

It boosts at just over a bar (~1.2).

The amal valve is unplugged, so i plugged it back in but when i took it for a test drive it boosted right past 2bar and was still rising before I lifted off to avoid damage.

Is the amal valve faulty??? Has andoby had similar probs???

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks
Stew

iirc if you run a car with the amal valve unplugged you don't run any boost.

With you fitting it back on and it's running so high, turn the boost down by lengthening the actuator shaft.

Better still get someone who knows about them if your not sure.

dont throw it in the bin

what actuator is on it?? the amal might have ben jetted for a spike so check for jets in the valve itself and also in the pipes coming off it.

Someone has disconnected your amal valve and set the boost by increasing the pre load on your actuator which is why you see massive boost when you plug it back in....sound like your chip is still amal valve enabled....

most stage 3 greens conversions run around 22psi of boost.....

The amal valve is primitive compared to something like air to air injectors but it can still be used to control boost reasonably well....
