FAO Stu and experts
Hi,
I had strange problem yestarday and everything back to normal later so I post a question.
Yeserday mornig I was driving for some practise driving in snow. Going out early from garage -8 degrees outside. Warmed up... and the car is barly quicker then WRX Impreza. Checked the boost gauge - only 1 bar. The situations tayed like that for whole trip and during whole day on the track (well I don't really know too much ice to get proper stable boost). Throughout the day it was below -6 degrees. Then when driving out of the track I floored it and everything backt o normal - just below 1.4 bar. Stayed like that for 200km's. Put the car back to garage. What could be that??? Checked all the lines under the boonet, they look normal.
My first idea was that maybe the car is mapped in such a way that it's down on bosot in very low temperatures (e.g. low ACT's) but it isn't as it boosted as normal in the evening even at high speeds. Schould I check something?
In the garage it stays in positive temperatures overnight.

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
IIRC standard eec-iv boost is mapped to give max boost around 40 degrees C inlet air temperature and this drops off either side. Obviously only Stu can say what he's mapped yours to.

Well it was still -8 in the evening and today it's about -10 and boost is just OK as usuall. So this was only temporary failure of some kind I think, which suggests it's rather mechanical then software problem as I originally thought.

You can feel flowery, perfume like smell of it all the time while driving, especially when stationary with warm engine.

It won't boost once more :-( 1 bar, no peak. Check boost solenoid connections - everything fine, I think it just failed :-(
