Hi all,

About to put another gearbox in my saff but it needs an oil refill. I know it needs ATF but the manual just gives a ford ref number and I refuse to buy it from ford!!! Question is, what's the best stuff to use? I was planning to use dextron 2 as it's better for the internal seals but I've noticed a few types around that reckon they're "to Ford specification"???

What's the general opinion??

 

hello mate just done my saffy box and brought castrol atf in it this also says to ford spec have had no problems and is nice and smooth got it from halfords but i think if you use any good brand aslong as it meets ford spec it will be fine

 

i would suggest using saw dust, (anybody) mixed with some used engine oil, works a treat on my cars

I'll get you some that meets ford spec if you like?

Sawdust you say?? Thought that only worked on high mileage CVH engines??!! Thanks for the tip though.
