hi to all
ive just replaced a turbo on my mates S1 that was smoking really bad, the turbo itself had only done a few hundred miles he had it new from PE,i then sold him a stage 2 t3 i had and this had only done about 5000 not really hard miles and there was not any abnormal amount of movement in the shaft, but he had been driving it for about a week and knocked the ends out so i took it all apart and replaced it all and the shaft in the turbo has a fair bit of movement that it didnt have a week earlier,so i think the seals have gone in this one aswell.
now the question i am asking is WHY?????
it smokes when he brakes and when changing gear but stops smoking when he puts his foot back on the throttle.
cheers for some advice
