does sound like either a boost pipe come off, or the actuator is not loaded up making it open at the first sign of boost and dro[p teh boost off...

have you got a boost gauge fitted?

as above sounds actuator preload should be 2-5mm, or mega boost leak, or blockage in the intercooler.
