Cossie rocker covers - different colours - why?
Hi guys.
Can anyone tell me which cars had which colour rocker covers, and are they physically any different?
Cheers

red was all early sierras (rs500 3 door, 2wd saph & early 4x4 saph,
green was late 4x4 saph with a cat and a lambda probe
blue was early escos( big turbo)
grey was last small turbo escos
ps, they are all the same as insofar as they will all fit, but the early ones had a boyonet type oil filler (quarter furn jobbie) and all the later ones had a screw in type which made a much better seal

The red covers were originally there to show that the engine meant business.
The green covers came about because the engineers at Cosworth were instructed to add emission controls to the engine, and they wanted to poke fun at the whole 'green' (global warming, etc) fad. Who wants a performance engine that's restricted?
The blue covers came about because they'd used all the other colour combinations on other heads that they were building for other customers.
Not sure about the black/silver combination - think this was a Ford thing to show that the engine had 'evolved' with EEC-IV.
