Default jammed open ?

when taking my cam etc out i tested the thermostst and it didnt open up when i poured boiling water on it would that mean its fooked and maybe why my car overheated and boiled the header tank water ??

im hopeing sumones going to say change that ur headgaskets proberly alrite and it was that what caused ur overheating ?

tie some string to it (so u can pull it out easy) and boil it in a pan of water
that will tell you for sure

as said, dont pour boiling water on it as it will cool too quick...you need to do it in a pan with a thermometer etc.

if you did that and it still didnt open then yeah, its fucked and would cause it to overheat

i had a feeling that would be you asking that

Mate just buy a new one for the sake of what they cost, definately worth while.

Don't hold it against me anyone please ( ) but i bought one from halfords, and its amazing, car warms up well, but youve only got to drive along at 10mph or so and the temperature stays nice and cool, it does get up to temperature in traffic etc, and the fan works, but i can bypass the fan switch, and with the fan on for not very long at all i can bring the temperature right down to where it sits when driving.

LOVE IT well pleased it doesnt overheat or get overly hot, NOT EVEN IN THE SUMMER

Best £4 something i ever spent
