Default Probrably a dumb question about the CVH Camshaft oil seal...

When replacing the oil seal on the camshaft behind the sprocket how far should i tap it in? Not being funny but should i leave it flush with the side of the head or push it all the way in as far as it will go? ive been doing the latter and it keeps leaking, twice now

I do seem to make a mess of these things
