Default 3bar MAP sensor

Hi there... i've got myself a 3bar MAP sensor (don't know if you guys understand what i mean). This should fit my Fiesta Turbo. But the engine is runnig very weird with it.... do i have to change anything else to run with a 3bar map sensor ??? I have the OFAB ecu.

The ecu needs to be chipped to recognise the 3 bar map sensor. BTW there is nothing to be gained performance wise by using this map sensor without other modifications.

Ok , so a 195bhp chip will work fine ???

Modifications... nothing to worry about got a T25 hybride, Beige Injectors, Stage 2 cilinderhead, Waterinjection, GreddyProfecAboostcontroller, and lots of other stuff

I believe '195' chips raise the boost limit to 16psi (the limit of the OFAB standard map sensor) so there would still be problems using a 3 bar sensor.

But a 3 bar mapsensor would work till 22 or even 29 psi ????

I'd like to go for about 22 psi

If you are after 22psi then you would be better off with a 2.5 bar map sensor because of the higher accuracy compared to the 3 bar sensor. You are also looking at needing a chip thats set up for that. A custom map to get the best out of your set up would be advisable.

Ok...sounds good, but where to get one???

And, will the 3bar MAP sensor work with a 195bhp OFAB chip with beige injectors???

Try Stu at http://www.motorsport-developments.co.uk/ , user name " Stu @ M Developments " on this board.

Not without causing running problems. The problem is that OFAB compatible map sensors output a voltage in the region of 0 -5 volts regardless of their operating range. i.e. a standard sensor may output say 5v at it's maximum pressure reading whilst a sensor with a greater operating range may output only 3.33v at the same pressure and the ecu will be getting a false idea of what the true boost pressure is.

Yes, map sensor is correct. MAP stands for 'manifold absolute pressure'.
