Default 2 stage boost

Does anybody know how this works, my car came with a switch on the dash it works ok but I dont know how and on motorway runs at about 80-85 it is not very good on fuel and the exhaust is very dark could the 2 stage boost cause this? If I had it lived mapped would I have to remove it Thanks ED

The switch shouldnt have caused it as it simply switches on and off the amal valve.

Live mapping has no effect on your swicth and it can be utilised nicely. If you just want cleaner running and better economy there are many options available to you even without live mapping in most cases.
