Default RS 500 inlet .... ???

Hi I've got a question about a RS 500 inlet side, ... I know the plenum, elbow and throttle house is different, but I've been told that there is a difference in size on the inlet manifold where the injectors are placed...

I have never heard that (and I dont think it is), so does anyone in here know if it's correct that the RS 500 inlet manifold is bigger than the Sierra/Sapp and Escort inlet ???

The plenum is wider but that won't have any effect on how the injectors or the fuel rail mount.

I don't think the manifold is dowelled either (has a pin in the head which located into a hol on the manifold to keep it in line when fitting).

Hmm..ok...but what about the size of the manifold itself (inside and out )...isnt it the same on a RS 500 and the other Cossies ???

In the manual it shows some small dowels in the head which I presume must have matching holes on the inlet manifold for location, but never actually seen one to know if holes are in std manifold or not, I believe internal trumpet sizes are the same, but if going for big power this would be ported anyway,

the trumpet section of the plenum is the same as all cosworths , on the 500 the inlet mouths closest to the head were opened up slightly by machining the casting thats all. Also as said there are two holes to fix a pair of dowels to.

So the answer to your question is yes they are all essentially the same and can be swapped about
