Default Cozzy 200 block oil return

I am using a 200 4x4 block for a Pinto engine I am building for my MKII RS2000.

I need to know what Cozzy engines use for a oil sump return that is screwed into the block below exhaust manifold (after removing blank plug).

Can item be purchased seperatly ?

Pics would be appreciated as I need return to feed oil back into sump below the level of the oil.

Replies appreciated.

That in fact is NOT an oil return but a breather hole.

Why is the bottom connector (drain off) of an oil catch tank connected to it ?

I agree it can be connected if the catch tank has a tap and is manually drained back with engine not running.

I want to use an auto return to sump system (with engine running)

This connector will require a pipe with an outlet "lower" than the level of the oil in the sump

Does anyone understand what I am trying to achieve ?

Or am I talking bollox ? - lol lol lol

All you need is a connector with the same thread that the hole has to connect the pipe 2, as said the hole is used as a breather from the sump but also acts as a return i would have thought aswell.

The problem with that hole is that obviously its not going to be lower than the level of the oil in the sump as its higher.....................

Hence the reason I wondered if anyone has come across a suitable fitting that does have a pipe attached inside the sump to "dip" into oil in the sump

Basically my understanding is this :

1. If connector is above oil it is a breather or return when fitted with a tap on catch tank

2. If connector enters oil in side the sump then it is a return and does not need a tap on catch tank

Option 2 is what I want to end up with

I have considered this but as Cozzies have run breathers for ages I assumed that a suitable connector was out there.

Pic appreciated though

std 200 breather setup

breather port on turbo side of block

std pic of 200 breather on inlet side of engine...

black pipe connected to where the old oil return went for new breather.

new breather pipe fitted where stf breather came from

new breather pipe fitted to turbo side of block

and the breather,,, top 2 connections are from the 2 new breather pipes, the small bottom one is the oil retuen and the large bottom one (which is held in the vice in the pic) vents to atmosphere or a catch tank if you prefer.

final install

Nice consice answer Dave

I assume the blue tank is baffled inside !

And on the original pic pipe No 11 returns oil and on blue tank oil return is the smaller outlet
Where do either of these connect to ?

Have cozzies got a connector on their sump below oil level ?

I will get there in the end - lol

4x4 engines have a dedicated port that return oil below the oil level that the std bretaher also returns it to, the uprated breather also return oil in the same way to the same place by the smallest port at the bottom (the angleed one) yes the tank is baffles inside, i made 100% sure of what each port did before plumbing it up with using water connected to each one and checking where it came out.. btw, IIRC my breather/seperator is actually a pace one, but i painted to so it would blend in a bit better.

that doesnt actually return below oil level either, but it will do the job the ideal way would be to have the sump tapped or a boss welded in for the return
