Default HELP !!!!!!!!! car dead

hi
got a ford escort si 1.8 1997
driving home from work was fine car started first time as usual, drove perfect as usual no problems
got out left it for about an hour then went to start it nout happened not even a click ! tried bumping it nout again then my dad tried giving me a jump start nout again.
so got a new battery from work today and again nothing at all no lights nothing electrial works maxi fuses look ok but i did notice the negitive terminal was getting worm it was on for about ten mins anybody have anyidea i mean any at all as bus sucks and i need to get t work !
all i got from a auto electritian was some ohhhh and arrrr over the phone so i guess you guys are better

escort fuse boxs are prone to shorting out that could be your problem.i had a similer prob but car used to cut out then start again before the fuse box went altogether.

id give the fusebox a shot, know a bloke had a similar thing in an orion, was a knackered fusebox
