Chargecoolers
I've been running a chargecooler (from a well known company that I won't name for now) for about 2 years now over about 8000 miles and it's sprung a bunch of leaks. The manufacturer basically says "well it's wear and tear and we expect them to wear out after a bit".
Now the cossie is only putting out about 260BHP so it's not going to be giving it a particularly hard time even. Does anyone else have any experience on how long a chargecooler should last for?

For the amount that a charge cooler costs, I would have hoped for alot longer than 8000miles....cant see escort cossie owners changing theirs every 8000miles....imagine the service costs
Quite!
The manufacturer in question is currently holding their line that it's perfectly normal for them to fail after such little use. I've spoken to an expert in the field and have been told that some do fail but usually they last many tens of thousands miles and many years.
I'm waiting to hear back from the manufacturer (they're currently insisting that I buy a new one, but that wouldn't be ready for some weeks), if they fail to satisfy though I shall name and shame. Because their work has been so good in the past I'm hoping that it won't come to that.

Shouldn't fail after 8k miles just because it's a chargecooler. Radiators and intercoolers don't fail this early so why should a chargecooler. The only possible exception to this would be if it failed due to corrosion because straight water was used in it. I'd go back to the manufacturer and argue some more.
the previous owner of my rst had a chargecooler done from PE and after 12000 miles its still going good if i were to see a thing fail on these it would probably be the pump that circulates the water
i think if you pay for a chargecooler which is quite abit you would expect it to last more then 8000 miles i think thats a joke. i dont think the company are being very helpful either by the sound of things they could of at the least given you a good discount off a new one
