Default Modified or standard???????

Hi all,im having a crisis. I have a 187 bhp ERST which hasnt been setup yet so is running at low boost. I cant decide whether to go for a standard spec or keep the higher power. Im new to RST's so my knowledge on parts and reliabiltiy is limited. I like power but i dont want to put too much stress on these great cars and end up spending ££££'s on it when it breaks.
I need you experts, who have some lovley cars by the way, to help me as im going to book into motorsport developments to get the work done.

Please dont recomend dumpvalves as that isnt the sort of car i want to end up with. I want a classic, sweet running S2

Hope there is some people out there who can help
thanks

Nice, had a series 2 running 175/180 bhp bayjoo chip, -31, samcos with standard air box and exhaust and it drove really well (14psi). Subtle yet quick enough to be fun and surprise others when needed!!

All depends what you really want but you will notice a big enough difference between the two stages mate

No matter wot anyone says standard is going to be the most reliable ive had my standard rs ages regular serviving etc never ever had a problem in the last 3 years just a distributor!!! However i think if you do chip zaust filter and it is setup properly at MSD for example i dont think you will have problems

hi mate,
your best bet is to go for a sensible 180 - 190 bhp. my uncle owns 2 rs turbos, 1 has 195 bhp and is very reliable and very sivalised to drive in traffic but also very quick. the other has 283 bhp and needs fixing after every drive, it is awsomely fast but not worth the hassle. if you want over 250 bhp, buy a cossie mate, there more reliable.
