Angry HELP Zetec swapped MK4 Escort coolant leak

Hi all,

I've got a coolant leak on my Zetec swapped MK4 Escort.
It started with a leaking radiator, which I replaced. After that several hoses started to leak so I replaced everything.
It kept leaking and it turned out that the head gasket was blown. I've just replaced it but 1 coolant hose is still leaking.
It's the bottom hose from the radiator to the waterpump. Theres a T-joint in between the 2 hoses, it leaks on one side of the T-joint.
I've tried to fit a Mondeo hose (waterpump side) combined with a Escort hose (radiator side) but this was leaking aswell.
Other swapped Escort topics did not cover the use of this hose other than "combine the Escort and the Zetec hose", which did not work in my case.
Is there a certain way to make this work?
I'm running out of ideas. Could someone please help me solve this?
Many thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Corné

It leaks at the radiator hose side, where the white line sits.

I'm sure someone like Roose will make a pipe for this conversion that doesn't involve bodging together different pipe types. Its a common enough swap that someone will have created a standard part for it.
Regardless, with what you've got -
That joiner looks like a mess. Those welds don't inspire confidence there isn't plenty of pinpricks/porosity in the joiner itself. Is it definitely the pipe leaking and not a seam in the joiner itself?
Does it have beads to help seal the pipe to the joiner or is it just plain slip on? How far "into" the pipe are the joins going as well

Hi Haz,

Thanks for your reply. I will have a look on Roose's website for the specific pipe.
I agree, the joiner is a bit of a mess. This is how it was installed when I bought the car and it didn't leak at the time, that's why I tried to use the joiner again.
I think that the pipe is leaking, it looks like there's water coming from the cords of the pipe. The joiner does have beads but the rad hose slips more easily over the joiner than the other hose. The joiner reaches in the pipe for around an inch.
Thanks again!

Kind regards,

Corné

There are 2 waterdrops visible on the surface of the waterhose

2 second google and guess this is what you'd need (well half of this kit).
https://roosemotorsport.co.uk/ford-e...-hose-kit.html

If Roose do them, chances are some of the cheaper suppliers/brands do them too. Tho Roose do at least guarantee quality
